Thank you for choosing Power Reg. This AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) provides a good protection to all feeding devices.

This manual is a guide which enables you to correctly install and use your AVR. This manual includes important SAFETY instructions for the

operator, for the AVR correct installation, and gives useful advice on the product. For any type of problem, please refer to this manual before

calling the customer service.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

●

Only properly trained personnel must use the AVR. To ensure correct and safety operations, it is necessary that operators

and maintenance personnel observe the general Safety Standards as well as the specific instructions included in this

manual.

●

Electric Shock risk: do not remove the cover. The AVR contains internal parts at high voltage which are potentially

dangerous, capable of causing injury or death by electric shock.

●

In the AVR there are no parts which are subject to user’s maintenance. Any type of maintenance and repair must be

carried out exclusively by a qualified technical personnel authorised by TECNOWARE. TECNOWARE declines any

responsibility if this warning is disregarded.

●

It is compulsory to ground the AVR according to Safety Standards in force.

●

When the AVR is ON there are risks of electric shock at the output sockets.

●

There are risks of electric shock at the output sockets if the unit is connected to the AC utility line.

●

Do not obstruct ventilation slots or holes and do not lean any object on top of the AVR. Do not insert objects or pour

liquids in the ventilation holes. Do not keep liquids, flammable gases or corrosive substances near the AVR.

●

Install the AVR indoors, in a protected, clean and moisture free environment.

INTRODUCTION

Power Reg is an AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator) specifically designed to protect the connected devices from irregularities in the AC line

such as under or overvoltages; Power Reg performs output voltage regulation and filters frequently occurring electrical disturbances (such as

transients, spikes, interferences, etc.), thus protecting all devices connected to the outlets.

The AVR general characteristics are:

● Low/High voltage automatic regulation

● Suitable for home and office equipments

● Lightning and surge protection

● Overload and short-cirtuit protection

● Plug RJ11/45 (tel, modem, ADSL) protection

● Heavy duty reliable design

INSTALLATION

INSPECTION AND PLACEMENT CHOICE

Carefully remove the AVR from its packaging, and carry out a meticulous inspection. We recommend keeping the original packaging in case

you need to send the AVR for maintenance purposes.

We recommend to pay attention to the below points in order to choose a correct placement for your AVR:

● Place Power Reg as close as possible both to the input electrical line and to the equipment to be supplied.

● Power Reg is designed to operate in protected environments (for example: offices). We therefore recommend to install it in a place

with no humidity, dust, or smoke. However, for the environmental requirements please refer to the “Specifications” chapter, and check

that the selected place meets with such specifications.

● It is necessary to leave at least 20 cm of space all around Power Reg in order to permit reasonable ventilation.

INSTALLATION

For a correct installation please carry out the following points:

1. Connect the AVR to an AC line outlet. It is mandatory to ground the outlet according to the Safety Standards. Carefully check

the grounding, make sure that the utility power is available, and that its range falls within the AVR specifications (refer to the

“Specifications” chapter).

2. Connect the devices to the AVR output sockets and turn all the switches ON.

3. Turn On the AVR; check that the power up performance takes place properly and that the AVR does not give any warning signals.

Make sure that all devices are turned ON accordingly.

FUNCTIONING

TURN ON AND FUNCTIONING

To turn your AVR on it is sufficient to plug it to the AC utility line outlet and press the ON/OFF button on the front panel. Both the two led

(“POWER” and “REGULATE”)turn on. The “POWER” led is green.

Power Reg modes of functioning are:

1. “SUPER BOOST” mode: when Power Reg regulate a very low input voltage. In this case the “REGULATE” led is red.

2. “BOOST” mode: when Power Reg regulate a low input voltage. In this case the “REGULATE” led is orange.

3. “NORMAL” mode: when Power Reg works with a normal input voltage. In this case the “REGULATE” led turns off.

4. “BUCK” mode: when Power Reg regulate a high input voltage. In this case the “REGULATE” led is green.

TURN OFF

To turn your Power Reg OFF, it is enough to press the ON/OFF button.

“OVERLOAD” CONDITIONS

Power Reg is in the “OVERLOAD” condition when the output power is higher than declared. In case of “OVERLOAD”, the AVR may

automatically switch off, protecting itself from this anomalous situation. In such case, the user must reduce the output power within the

specification range, by disconnecting the devices causing the overload. The Circuit Breaker (on the rear) goes off in “OVERLOAD” or

short-circuit condition; push the external button of the Circuit Breaker to reactivate it.

per l’operatore e per una corretta installazione dell’AVR e utili consigli per la manutenzione del prodotto. Per ogni problema fare prima

riferimento al manuale e poi rivolgersi al servizio d’assistenza.

IMPORTANTI AVVISI DI SICUREZZA

●

L'AVR deve essere utilizzato solo da personale opportunamente istruito. Per l’uso corretto e in condizioni di sicurezza è

necessario che gli operatori ed il personale di manutenzione si attengano alle norme generali di sicurezza, in aggiunta alle

norme specifiche contenute in questo manuale.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico: non rimuovere il coperchio. L’AVR presenta parti interne sotto tensione che sono

potenzialmente pericolose e possono provocare lesioni o morte per shock elettrico.

●

L’AVR non ha parti interne soggette a manutenzione da parte dell’utente. Interventi tecnici di qualsiasi tipo devono essere

compiuti solo da personale tecnico specializzato ed autorizzato da TECNOWARE. In caso contrario TECNOWARE

declina ogni sua responsabilità.

●

Il collegamento a terra dell’AVR secondo le norme vigenti è obbligatorio.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico in uscita se l’AVR è acceso.

●

Rischio di shock elettrico in uscita se è presente la tensione di rete elettrica in ingresso.

●

Non ostruire le fessure o i fori di ventilazione e non appoggiare alcun oggetto sopra l’AVR; non inserire oggetti o versare

liquidi nei fori di ventilazione; non avvicinare liquidi, gas infiammabili o sostante corrosive.

●

Installare l’AVR in ambiente chiuso, pulito e privo di umidità.

INTRODUZIONE

Power Reg è un AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator), cioè un regolatore di tensione, realizzato appositamente per proteggere i dispositivi

collegati da avarie della rete elettrica come sottotensionie sovratensioni; oltre a svolgere le funzioni di stabilizzatore, Power Reg filtra i disturbi

frequentemente presenti sulla linea elettrica (transienti, spike, interferenze, etc.), preservando in tal modo i dispositivi che alimenta..

Le principali caratteristiche dell’AVR sono:

● Regolazione automatica di basse e alte tensioni

● Ideale come protezione in casa e in ufficio

● Protezione da fulmine e surge

● Protezione da cortocircuito e da sovraccarico

● Protezione plug RJ11/45 (telefono, modem, ADSL)

● Design innovativo ed affidabile

INSTALLAZIONE

ISPEZIONE E SCELTA DELLA COLLOCAZIONE

Rimuovere l’AVR dall’imballo con cautela e ispezionarlo accuratamente. Si consiglia di conservare l’imballo nell’eventualità futura che l’AVR

debba essere spedito per la manutenzione.

Si consiglia di prestare attenzione ai punti seguenti per la scelta di una corretta collocazione dell’AVR:

● Collocare Power Reg il più vicino possibile sia alla linea elettrica d'ingresso che ai dispositivi a cui deve fornire potenza.

● Power Reg è progettato per operare in ambienti chiusi (come ad esempio gli uffici). Si consiglia perciò d’installarlo in un luogo privo di

umidità, polvere e fumo eccessivi. Consultare comunque il capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche” per i requisiti ambientali e controllare

che il luogo scelto rientri in tali specifiche.

● È necessario lasciare uno spazio di almeno 20 cm su tutti i lati di Power Reg per permetterne una sufficiente aerazione.

INSTALLAZIONE

Per una corretta installazione svolgere i seguenti punti:

1. Collegare l’AVR ad una presa di alimentazione elettrica, che deve avere obbligatoriamente una connessione a terra secondo le

norme vigenti. Verificare il collegamento a terra della presa e accertarsi della presenza della tensione di rete elettrica e che la sua

ampiezza rientri nelle specifiche (vedi capitolo “Caratteristiche Tecniche”).

2. Collegare i vari dispositivi alle prese d'uscita dell’AVR; posizionare i relativi interruttori su ACCESO.

3. Accendere l’AVR; controllare lo svolgimento della fase di accensione e che l’AVR non segnali nessuna anomalia. Accertarsi che tutti i

dispositivi si siano accesi regolarmente.

FUNZIONAMENTO

ACCENSIONE E FUNZIONAMENTO

Per accendere l’AVR è sufficiente collegarlo alla linea elettrica e premere il pulsante ON/OFF sul pannello frontale. L’AVR accende entrambi i

led (“POWER” e “REGULATE”) sul frontale. Il led “POWER” rimane acceso di colore verde.

Le modalità di funzionamento di Power Reg sono:

1. “SUPER BOOST” mode: quando Power Reg stabilizza una tensione di ingresso molto bassa. In questa modalità il led

“REGULATE” è rosso.

2. “BOOST” mode: quando Power Reg stabilizza una tensione di ingresso bassa. In questa modalità il led “REGULATE” è arancione.

3. “NORMAL” mode: quando Power Reg lavora con una tensione di ingresso all’interno di valori accettabili. In questa modalità il led

“REGULATE” è spento.

4. “BUCK” mode: quando Power Reg stabilizza una tensione di ingresso alta. In questa modalità il led “REGULATE” è verde.

SPENGIMENTO

Per spengere Power Reg è sufficiente premere il pulsante ON/OFF.

Condizioni di “OVERLOAD”

Power Reg è nella condizione di “OVERLOAD” quando la potenza assorbita dai dispositivi connessi supera quella dichiarata. In caso di

“OVERLOAD” l’AVR può spegnersi automaticamente per proteggersi dalla situazione anomala. Prima di riaccendere Power Reg verificare

che il carico non superi la potenza massima dichiarata. In caso di “OVERLOAD” o cortocircuito l’interruttore termico (Circuit Breaker)

sul retro dell’ AVR scatta; per riarmare il Circuit Breaker, premere manualmente sulla parte fuoriuscita.
